Rare, pair of beautiful French Medici terracotta urns in a faux marble glazed finish.
The renown Maison Romeo reigned over Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris for nearly 50 years.
Claude Dalle, an enigmatic and discreet figure in the world of decoration, founded Maison Roméo. Through a skilfully orchestrated mix of classicism and modernity, his clientele included international personalities such as Aristotle Onassis, La Callas, Alain Delon, ambassadors and royal families of the Middle East and Africa, wealthy industrialists from the United States and China and many others.
These exceptional 'terre cuite émaillée' vases are in lovely condition with some minor losses to glaze, commensurate to age and use.
