MID-CENTURY ITALIAN GILT IRON FOLIATE CEILING LIGHT

A striking Mid-Century Italian gilt tole three light ceiling fixture or wall light.

The scrolling arms issuing from a clustered foliate stem and terminating in bulb cups. Richly decorated throughout with hand-worked serrated leaves and retaining its original distressed gilt finish. The chandelier displays the sculptural organicism associated with Florentine lighting of the 1950s and 1960s. 

Elegant yet playful in form, this piece embodies the Romantic Neo-Classical revival popular in post-war Italian interiors, equally suited to a hallway, dressing room or intimate dining space. Circa 1950–60.
