LARGE EARLY 20TH CENTURY FRENCH GREEN GLAZED POTTERY JUG

A wonderfully sculptural early 20th Century French pottery jug of exceptional size.Finished in a rich emerald green glaze with beautiful tonal variation throughout. The substantial twin-handled form and softly tapering body give the piece a strong provincial character, while the lustrous glaze adds depth and vibrancy.

Originating from southern France, this utilitarian vessel has an expressive hand-thrown quality with irregularities and surface wear consistent with age and use. Equally striking displayed as a stand alone decorative object or used for large branches and foliage. Circa 1930.
