LARGE 19TH CENTURY LOUIS XVI REVIVAL CANED WALNUT BANQUETTE

Large 19th Century French Louis XVI Revival elegant and finely detailed walnut banquette with caned seat. 

The frame is adorned with ribbon, twist and beaded carving along the apron, punctuated by delicately carved floral corner blocks. Slender, tapered legs terminate in carved feet. The original caned seat, tightly woven and beautifully patinated, is framed by further ribbon-twist decoration. 

A separate seat cushion upholstered in antique French linen is provided for added comfort and protection to the cane. (Height with cushion is 52cm). 

This beautiful bench is also suitable as a window seat and is ideal at the foot of a bed, in an entry hall, dressing room, or salon, where it offers both functional seating and understated decorative elegance.
