Beautiful portrait of a draped seated female nude and mirror. Signed by the artist, Cyprien Eugene Boulet [1877-1972], to the lower right. 
Oil on wood panel in carved frame of the period.


About the Artist: Cyprien Eugène Boulet, French painter, born December 21, 1877 in Toulouse and died April 2, 1972 in Toulon.

Boulet was a student of Jean-Paul Laurens, Fernand Cormon and Louis-Joseph-Raphaël Collin. In 1900, he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists and won the gold medal in 1914. He then became a member of the jury1. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1926 and worked during his life in France, Argentina, the United States and Mexico. He died in Toulon in 1972.

His works are notably visible at the Musée des Augustins in Toulouse,  the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nice, the Petit Palais in Paris, the La Piscine Musée d’Art in Roubaix, the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées in Paris and at the Pinacothèque of the State of São Paulo in Brazil.
