Beautiful French early 19th century embroidered detailed map of the France.

This rare, large example is dated 1842 and was embroidered by Mademoiselle Chaussier.

In the late 18th and early 19th century, geography was considered a suitable subject for girls to display a combination of academic and needlework skills.
