FRAMED 18TH CENTURY SILKWORK

Empire Period embroided silkwork of a woman and her dog by a tree with the inscription 'Penser à moi jy songe sans cesse' [Translation: Think of Me. I Dream of Being With You Always]This beautiful romantic work is in its original frame of the period and is behind glass. It is rare to find these works that are not of a religious theme. The condition is outstanding and it has retained it's colour. The paintwork to the background and her face is beautifully executed and the embroidery work and detail is outstanding.
