A charming early 20th Century French travelling hat trunk. Circa 1920.

Bearing the original brass retailer’s plaque for Madame F. Thérot of Villefranche-de-Rouergue. Constructed with a canvas-covered body, leather-bound edges and brass fittings, the case retains a well-preserved interior with linen lining, blue webbing retaining straps and removable tray. Original brass lock, with a turn-key mechanism, operated by turning the key clockwise to ope and anti-clockwise to secure.

Compact in scale and rich in character, this attractive piece embodies the elegance and practicality of interwar travel and now makes a decorative storage piece or occasional table.
