A beautifully worked early 20th Century French Art Nouveau copper champagne bucket.

Richly decorated in repoussé with trailing grape clusters and vine leaves against a finely textured ground. The sculptural side handles are cast in the form of twisting vines emerging from foliate mounts, giving the piece a distinctly naturalistic character typical of the period. Hand-hammered with a warm aged patina throughout, the bucket retains its original tinned interior with visible wear consistent with age and use.

Originally intended as a champagne or wine cooler, it also works beautifully as a decorative cachepot or centrepiece. An evocative piece of French decorative metalwork with strong vineyard and harvest references.

In good antique condition with age-related wear, surface rubbing and patination throughout.
