A charming 19th Century French wool needlework tapestry panel depicting a pastoral hunting scene with three figures in period rural dress.

With a central hunter presenting a hare, flanked by a gentleman sportsman with gun and a companion carrying a basket, accompanied by two hounds. The scene is framed by an ornate scrolling floral border in the manner of 18th Century Aubusson tapestry designs. Worked in coloured wools on dark canvas, the panel displays a well-preserved palette with areas minimal wear, highlighting the detail of the figures, animals and foliage.
