An elegant 19th Century French Napoleon III ladies writing table in ebonised wood.


Raised on finely turned barley-twist legs joined by stretchers with a central finial. The serpentine-fronted top sits above a single frieze drawer fitted with ornate cast swan-neck handles and decorative escutcheon, the interior retaining its original divided compartments for stationery. Above the writing surface is a charming two-tier étagère, supported by spiral-turned columns, ideal for books, letters or small decorative objects. The top and apron are enriched with carved foliate edging.
