Mid-20th Century French still life painting of poppies and wildflowers in a vase. Oil on board and in a carved frame of the period.


Signed V.Cuguen. 


Victor Louis Cuguen [1882-1969] was a drawing teacher at the Toulon high school. Cuguen exhibited at the Salon des Independants from 1923. He became known for his exclusive use of the palette knife. Works by the artist are kept at the Musee des Beaux Arts de Saint-Lo in the Normandy region of France.
