A dynamic depiction of racehorses negotiating the turn, after the celebrated French sporting artist Louis-Ferdinand Malespina. Jockeys in brightly coloured silks urge their mounts forward as the field compresses along the rail, captured in brisk, expressive strokes. The composition beautifully conveys the speed and vitality of the racecourse, qualities for which Malespina’s sporting imagery became well known.
