LARGE MID-CENTURY FRENCH MARBLE TOP GUERIDON TABLE WITH BRASSED CAST IRON BASE

Mid-Century French centre table of generous proportions. 

With a white marble top enclosed by a brass ring, raised on an unusual brassed cast iron pedestal base. The substantial tripod support is decorated with scrolling foliate motifs and centred by a turned, spiral-fluted column, reflecting the enduring influence of Louis XV design. Less commonly encountered in a brassed finish, the richly patinated base contrasts beautifully with the crisp white marble and brass detail, lending the piece both character and presence.

Well-proportioned and decorative, it works equally well as a centre table, lamp table or occasional table.
