A richly textured 20th Century impasto oil on canvas depicting a bouquet of soft pink and peach roses arranged in a blue and white vase, set against a muted grey ground.
Executed with confident palette-knife technique, the composition displays Ferber’s expressive handling of paint and her sensitivity to colour and texture. Signed lower right 'M. Ferber'. Presented in a giltwood frame.
Monique Ferber was born in Neuilly in 1925 and later lived on Réunion Island, where she developed her painting practice while travelling extensively. Coming from a distinguished artistic family, she was the granddaughter of the celebrated French painter and engraver Albert Besnard.
