A refined mid-20th Century French folding secrétaire in cherrywood.


Showcasing beautifully figured veneers and elegant proportions. The fall-front opens to a compact writing interior with a leather-lined surface, shaped pigeonholes and glass inkwell liners. Also known as a billet-doux [love-letter]. Subtle ebonised stringing and a recessed brass handle add understated sophistication, while the slender splayed legs and turned stretcher give the piece a light, architectural presence. 

 

Designed to occupy minimal space, it is ideal as a discreet writing desk or occasional bureau.
