Late 19th or Early 20th Century French Folk Art weather vane figure.

Depicting a rider on a galloping horse, hand-cut from sheet iron and retaining traces of its original painted surface beneath a beautifully weathered patina. Once mounted atop a rooftop directional arrow, the silhouette has been later presented on a bespoke iron stand for display.

Expressive in its simple, graphic form, the piece has the charm and character typical of provincial blacksmith work, with years of exposure lending depth and authenticity to the surface. Circa 1900.
