A charming 17th Century French provincial oak coffer, from Anjou in the Isere region.

The trunk features a distinctive undulating moulding and a small pedimented escutcheon surrounding the lock. No key.

Raised on block feet, the coffer retains a rich , time-worn patina.

A lovely honest piece that that works beautifully as storage, a blanket chest, or a statement piece in a hallway, bedroom or living space.
