Mid 20th Century French framed painting on wood of a boules match. 

Charming depiction of a group of Provencale gentlemen enjoying a game of Petanque. They play protected under the dappled shade of trees and in the distance we see the majestic Mont Ventoux. Most evocative of the characters found in the writings of Marcel Pagnol. 

Signed to the lower right Leo Hamel and dated 1957.
